So I e-mailed you on
Wednesday and not a ton happened this week :) But I will just tell you
what did happen :) I can't even fathom the fact that I've got 6 months left
next week...All of my friends have 5 months left! haha It's so crazy...I never
thought this day would come it seemed so far away and now it's here and I'm
just freaking out :) Haha on my year mark day I may or may not have wallowed in
my own self-pity :P haha jk I just don't ever want to not be a missionary! :)
haha I love it too much! You guys can just come to WA :) haha But I just
reflected on the person that I am. Being in Olympia has been a learning
experience but I feel like I lost a little bit of my focus when I got here. :)
I get distracted by friends and such. And I pondered this week a lot about my
character...I think this is something that I just like to think about a
lot....but It's because I do not want to come home with changed habits, I want
to come home with a changed nature! :) So I pondered on that a lot.. I of
course have changed SO much about me and who I am and now I think I just need
to refine that. Because now that I have a greater self-confidence I find myself
being a bit prideful sometimes. And well that's never good :) haha SO I am
refining who I am. I picture myself as a little old lady who is meek and
patient and every little kid loves to come over and I just don't see myself as
that yet so I'm working on it :) haha of course Training is trying my patience
and meekness :) Its fun and I LOVE sister H but it's easy for new
missionaries to get upset with learning and such. Sometimes I make her make
decisions and she hates it! :) haha So I have to be very patient with her
sometimes :) and I of course did the exact same thing with Sister Hall :) haha
but it's so good for me to learn these things again. Isn't funny how you learn
things over and over and yet you still forget? So crazy! :) haha Anyways so
this week was fun on Tuesday we had zone conference and President
made me lead all the music which I totally sucked at but it was quite fun! :)
There's no way in a million years I would've stood in front of a bunch of
missionaries and acted out "once there was a snowman" a year
ago...see! I'm growing! :) haha But I actually am so glad that I get to be out
of my comfort zone so often on my mission because that is where I learn the
most! :) Thursday was my year mark day and it was pretty
uneventful...we did teach Axle who is a member but he's basically an
investigator. He was baptized but knew nothing about the church until a couple
months ago and now he is such a good member! :) He's so awesome! :) Then we had
dinner at the Mahoney's they are the cutest little family and so sweet to each
other! I seriously learn so much about families out here and what I want to do
with my family :) It's a lot of fun to see the different ways people raise
their children :) That night we went with Elder Genereux and Pierce to see some
YSA people :) Honestly the YSA branch is a little bit of a....well let’s just
say that we don't really have success in that area :) Except we are teaching a
girl named Allison with the Elders right now but that's about it :) haha On
Friday we had dinner at the Mcowens! (the wife is the one who's from
Springville) and they are the greatest people in the world! :) They are so
sweet and so helpful with the work! They gave us a George foreman and a waffle
iron because this girl likes to cook!!! :) (me) and all we have is a hot plate
:) I never realized how much I loved stoves! haha :) So we will be eating more
than just quesadilla’s now! :) That night we found a ramtha guy while tracting!
Their beliefs are pretty interesting....he told us about our 3rd eye and how
Christ has a twin brother and a wife and children and told us over and over to
read the white book! (which we wanted to pull out our white handbooks and say
we have!!! :) haha ) He said all sorts of weird stuff though! But he went to
the ancient school of wisdom! Elder Genereux told me that in order to get into
the school you have to pay $3000 and they write your name on a paper and put it
in this field with all sorts of bushes and trees and stuff and give you 24
hours to find it and if you find a paper than you can be in the school. I dunno
if that's true but it's just so interesting to learn about how different people
do different things and believe different things. :) The world would be so
AWESOME if everyone was "Mormon"!!!! :) haha It was fun though! I
really actually like finding out peoples different ideas! :) It's so
interesting! :) haha On Saturday we got to go to a fireside practice
for the fireside that we had in Lacey last night! It was fun :) Then we went
and Saw Gary again! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! he is the biggest sweetheart and I
just want him to be baptized! He always calls me pushy and so I keep telling
him that one day I'm just going to push him into the font :) hahaha not really
but I wish :) :P Gary is still working for March 15th, but he is
struggling. He has to quit smoking and Coffee and tea. And he still struggles
with Joseph Smith. I just tell him that he's being stubborn but I know that
it's a huge struggle to quit smoking. So I am praying very hard for him that
he'll be able to let go and let God help him :) Sometimes that's the hardest
thing because we are all prideful. but I believe in him so much! I know that I
still have that problem sometimes...where I just can't seem to let God help me.
But that's the whole point of the Atonement. He can help us with everything.
Isn't it cool? We can be so happy in this life if we just let go and let God
help :) But I love Gary so much :) He is like my pride and joy :) Our other
investigators were either sick this week or out of town :/ so that was a
bummer...but I am excited for this week! It will be good :) haha That night we
had dinner at the Howes who are a Part member family and they are so awesome! I
love them a lot! Sister Howe has been going through radiation and she told us
about how when she has to do the radiation (which she does every single day
except for weekends) She pretends like she is looking at Christ's eyes and just
focusing on Him and then she related it to when Christ walks on the water and
when Peter comes out of the ship and is walking to Christ and when he has his
eye's fixed on Christ he's fine but as soon as he looks away and is afraid he
starts to sink. But Christ will always reach out and catch us when we start to
sink. And it was so amazing! I got chills! That is like my favorite story in
the bible! :) I love it! :) On Sunday we had to speak in the YSA
ward...that was fun! I talked about our responsibility as finders...you guys
better be doing work back there! :) haha Then we got to go to the fireside that
night and papa Rich came! My RC from Steilacoom! :) I love and miss him SO
much!!!!! I freaked out when I saw him and immediately gave him a hug! haha He
is getting ready to go to the temple! He was baptized May 26th so he
is planning on going asap! :) I AM SO EXCITED!!! :) And Gary came and he Loved
it! :) it was a lot of fun! I haven't smiled that much in a minute :) anyways I
am out of time it seems! I hope all of you are doing wonderfully! I am missing
you and always praying for you! I Love you so much! :)
Love always
