Well hello family!
Glad to hear ya'll are doing well :) I am LOVING Chambers Creek!!!
:) It is such a great area, and my companions....oh I just love them SO much!!!
:) So I’ll just tell you about the week... :) this one might be short cuz
there's not a whole ton to tell :) On Monday we did our p-day thing and I finished
packing I had to say goodbye to the Brothersons and Mortensens! Which
are two of my favorite families who I love SO much! :) On Tuesday we got
everything ready and went to transfer meeting! There I got my 2 new beautiful
companions!!!! So I will tell you about them! :)
Sister Packard is 19 almost 20 and she is from Huston Texas
area! :) So yes she says "ya'll" haha I love it so much! Her accent
only comes out sometimes and it's so funny :) She's a very bubbly and energetic
person which I need haha and she's an AMAZING singer! I make her sing to me
like all day every day :D I first met her my first day in WA she trained my
friend Sister Scott and she came out with Sister Hall and she sang at my very
first transfer meeting and I wanted so badly to be her companion! And the day
has come! haha she's great! :) She also knows her stuff about the gospel, she's
very inspiring to me and I look up to her a TON!
Hermana (Sister) Dean is also 19 but she turns 20 next p-day!
(the 2nd) She is from Brigham City, Utah! :) So she knows a lot about that new
temple :) she told us that EVERY night from 9-12 people go and clean every nook
and cranny of that place! which I thought was cool :) Just goes to show that we
need to keep our houses and bodies clean for the spirit! haha I love Hermana
Dean! :) She is a visa waiter! She is waiting to go to Argentina! So she speaks
Spanish! So even though I am not training anymore I still don't leave until 11
cuz she does language study! Sister Dean is also a very good singer! Which is
AWESOME!!!! We sing alllll the time :) haha She came to WA the transfer after
me but went to the MTC only a little bit after me! She is just a little
firecracker! She is awesome!
So yes! I love my companions very very very much! :) They are my
favorite! We are all working together in unity and there is already so much
love within the companionship :) I am so excited and ready for this transfer :)
So Chambers Creek! I got here Tuesday night at 5 ish :) Haha
Chambers Creek is the Tacoma/University Place area :) So the mission office is
in my area! In fact it's just up the street from where I live :) There are a
lot of stores in my area haha so it's pretty big because the stores take up a
lot of room! :) I still have no idea where I am most of the time! haha I will
get there :) There is a big span of types of people...you've got the ghetto's
and the mansions here :) haha but I love it here so much already! :) This
is going to be a great transfer! :)
So now to tell you the highlights of my week! :) On Thursday Jon
Cooper got baptized in Chambers Creek! He's 27 he was a 7th day Adventist and
he had a lot of addictions that he has overcome! And I love him so much! He’s a
way chill guy and he's already strong in the gospel! :) He is awesome! The
baptism was so great! Sister Hall got to come back and Sisters Packard, Dean,
and I put together (in like 10 minutes in the morn) a little song :) we sang
"Nearer My God to Thee" :) I can't even tell you how much I sing!
haha I have always LOVED singing so much but never felt confident enough to do
so in front of people! But now I sing ALL the time!!! haha It brings the spirit
so much! :) But Jon is the best! I can't even describe how funny he is! You'll
just have to meet him one day! :) Another highlight is Lillian’s baptism in
Steilacoom! Oh man! Was it good to be back in Steilacoom and see Lillian be
baptized! Brooke got her mission call!!!! She got it the night before so as
soon as she saw me she ran up and attacked me crying! She's so excited! She is
going to South Seoul Korea speaking Korean and she leaves in October! haha
Lillian was so excited that I was back too! :) It was such a sweet baptism! I
cried :) haha she was so excited to finally be a member of the true church!
agh!!!! I just love that girl so much!!! (SO MUCH LOVE IN THIS E-MAIL!!!) :) I
was also very excited to see my wonderful ward members! :) And they were
excited to see me too :) haha Ah I loved it so much, and Sister Thompson is
doing so good with Sister Stucki I knew she would but it's good :) my child is
being taken care of!
So....Matt you've probably heard of this but there's a talk that
all missionaries read about this missionary named "Susan Fultcher"
who knows how to work the members :) haha and as you know I LOVE my Steilacoom
ward members! So Sister Hall told Packard and Dean that I was a good "Fulterizer"
or good at working with the members :) So I had an important mission in this
ward. :) haha So On Saturday night we had a ward picnic! I went around to like
everyone there and just got to know them and I wrote down what I learned in my
planner so then on Sunday I was able to know some people and get to know others
through them and oh my! I love this ward too! :) haha It's not anything like Steilacoom
but it's special :) We do not get fed very often at all here but the members
are still very awesome and willing to help us :) So I’m taking it as my job to
get close to the members so we will get fed more ;) haha jk but it is very
important to work with the members! We got 2 referrals yesterday and it was awesome!
The work here isn't as busy as it was in Steilacoom...we only
have 2 progressing investigators because everyone is getting baptized! haha but
I love them both very much! The first one is M....she's 16 and so ready to get
baptized but her mom won't let her! :( But she's so sweet and I love her...then
we have Terence littlejohn! I think I told ya'll a little about him last week
but he's hilarious!!! haha Oh Terence...I enjoy him :) he calls me
"dimps" short for dimples and he's just the funniest man ever! haha
:)
Welp...that's about it for the week! I am loving it very very
much! The adjustment has been weird but Packard and Dean are awesome and very
very helpful :) So it's great!
Oh! I was going to tell you...being a STL is fun :) haha I get
to go to the leadership meetings and go on exchanges with my sisters every
week! So It's going to be a great learning experience :) haha I'm going on my
first exchange this week and it will be fun! :) I'm just excited that I get the
opportunity to server my fellow amazing missionaries! YAY! haha and I get to
see president more! I love him! Today is his birthday!!! haha just a random
fact for ya... :)
Also! Sister Hall is in Highland Hills so she's in my Zone!
Which is awesome her and Packard are very very good friends so I am glad that
they are still close to each other :) Anyways I think that's about it! I'm just
adjusting and learning what my part here in Chambers is! Thank you for your
continued support and love! :) I love ya'll very very very much! :)
Love always!
Sister Wilkins :)

Just FYI to all those that read and follow Brittany's blog. My mom and I are both in school full-time again starting today. We are most likely going to be much slower getting e-mails sent out and getting the blog and Facebook updated. We promise we will get it done though! Thank you all for following and wanting to know how our beautiful Brittany is doing!
