Week 24

Hello Family!!!
Well it's been a LOOONGGG week but it's been good! :) Today is going to be a fun day! The whole mission is invited to get together for a BBQ, and it's at my church so I don't even have to drive far!!! :) Anyways Tuesday was cool we started teaching another golden investigator named L.G. Her husband and in-laws are in our ward and all members and now she just wants to be baptized!!! Unfortunately she'll be getting baptized after I leave :( but fortunately President will let me come back most likely! :) She's getting baptized on the 31st! She is so sassy and has that awesome sarcasm so I'm not afraid to be sarcastic around her haha...we have fun :D She also has the only dog in WA that I actually like! She's so cute and loves to cuddle with me! Her name is Hana and I will have to send you a picture of her :) L. is Cambodian Vietnamese and Japanese! haha So she's like 29 and tiny, and her birthday is the day before yours mom!!! :)  Anyways I love her :) haha Speaking of transfers yes President pretty much told me I was leaving Steilacoom :( So hold on to your horses and wait for some crazy news because it will be different this time! Who knows what will happen to me?! I am so sad that I have to leave Steilacoom though :( I love this place WAY too much, but I’m pretty sure I’ve knocked on every door twice already :) haha also on Tuesday we ran into bike crash kid!!!!! He’s still alive and now he's a potential investigator! :) haha BROOKE IS BACK!!!! haha I know you met her but I was SO excited when she got back here cuz now we have a tripanionship and it's FUN! :) We've had some fun this weekend with her :) Another cool person we are teaching is S. We taught her on Wednesday and we taught her about the first half of the restoration. I could really feel the spirit the whole lesson and it was a really good lesson because she was talking most of the time and when she wasn't talking we were bearing testimony and asking questions :) at the end she said the prayer and started to cry, she felt so good about what we were saying and told us that she's been looking for more comfort in her life. So she's great! We also went and mopped V's floor! V. is a really old lady from Louisiana and she's Baptist and hilarious! :) haha She's "29 and some mo" she's hilarious! I get a kick out of her :) Oh, also Wednesday morning some of Sister Thompson's friends showed up on our doorstep! So she talked to them for a minute, and then I made her talk to President. It was all-good though. It wasn't her fault that they showed up! :) On Thursday we went to Anderson Island like always and this week we taught J! She's seriously so hilarious! These are some of the things she says: "Shoot a doot!" "you can't take a bar of soap into a mud puddle! it'll get all dirty!" (talking about her boyfriend) "I met him at AA I mean where else are you going to find sober men?" "Are we allowed to have favorites? Oh ya God had favorites" haha! She's so funny! I love J. :) We also sang again at the community center :) We sang How great Thou art this week :) I love those old ladies! Especially Joan! Joan is awesome! She is the one whole helped me make my earrings and she just loves us and we love her! :) Thursday night we went over to the D’s to see how they were doing. Sister D. got in a fight with her husband and he threw her on the floor and left her with a 4 month old a 10 year old and a 12 year old. The 10 and 12 year olds are genius though and super good kids, :) but we had a really humbling moment there because even through all that she was going through they all had an amazing attitude and just relied on Christ so much. It was amazing! :) Saturday was SUCH A GREAT DAY!!! :) First we went over to bishop's house for breakfast and he talked all about their visit with you! It was so fun to hear about! I love it! :) Sometimes I skip over some details :) haha So I’m glad you got to talk with them. It's true how I’ve grown so much. When I first got to Steilacoom I was SO QUIET, and now I'm like a butterfly bustin out of my cocoon! haha jk I dunno but I really have grown a ton..I told you so :) haha you can ask anyone in this ward and they can tell you how much I’ve changed and become more confident and happy :) And also yes mom we get fed EVERY night by a member. I think there has only been like 7 days if that my whole mission where I haven't been fed by someone :) haha it's literally amazing that I’m not obese :) haha anyways after breakfast we went over to the D’s and there were a bunch of Sisters there from the ward and we were organizing and cleaning her house! Brooke Thompson and I got the job of cleaning and putting boxes into the attic! It was fun and dirty! :) haha that's why there's pictures of me in jeans :) then later that day GINA GOT BAPTIZED!!!! :) It was such a good service! Ah! The spirit was amazing! Gina was so happy! Sister Thompson was so nervous it was funny :) I remember being nervous for my first baptism too :) haha I made her give the missionary message and we sang "Joseph Smith's first prayer" together :) haha I'm such a mean mom cuz I make her do things out of her comfort zone. :) She loves it! :) It was awesome and so spiritual! Everyone is making us sing for them now...haha it's funny :) and Fun! :) Ah I can't even tell you how great it was! I love baptisms! Then Saturday night we painted a less active families library! They made fun of me cuz I had no idea how to paint a room....I guess I need to learn some things... :) haha Sunday was awesome! Sister Thompson and I taught gospel principles and it was on service and I played "his hands" at the end and bore my testimony and made everyone cry! haha I'm good at that! :D It's funny because I was thinking the other day, before my mission if I had to get up in front on 30 or more people to speak or sing I’d be TERRIFIED, but now I just go with the flow and do it :) haha Crazy how missions make you more comfortable with talking to people.... :) anyways this week was awesome and I'm doing very well! :) Everything is fantastic, and I hope ya'll are doing good! The church is true, and :) keep pressin on! LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Love always

Just FYI a few people have mentioned that they haven't heard back from Brittany yet, or that she takes a while to write them back.  Brittany is totally and completely immersed in the work.  Even us, her family, typically only get the weekly e-mail that is posted here.  We get short responses here and there, and occasional notes in the mail from her, but she is 100% focused on her mission.  She loves you all and appreciates the letters that she receives.  Thank you so much for the letters that have been sent and the support that she has been given we know it means so much to her.  We truly appreciate it!
